After some delays, the Joom!Fish 2.0 finally is released to Joom!Fish Club Members 2 days after the Christmas. It can be found at the Club Download on Joom!Fish Web site. Non-members must wait until December 31th for the general public release. If you are a non-member and don't want to wait, you still can retrieve it from Joom!Fish SVN on JoomlaCode.org. Or, you can join and support Joom!Fish Club for the privilege of accessing the stable release before the general public as well as other additional downloads.

Yesterday (Nov. 02) Joom!Fish Official Web site announced the final stable version of Joom!Fish 2.0 will be released after two weeks of bug fixing period. All confirmed bugs belonged to priority 1 and 2 will be exterminated in the stable release. Priority 3 and other bugs will be patched in version 2.1 or in-between releases.

The announcement also urges users of Joomla! 1.0.x + Joom!Fish 1.8.x updgrade to the latest version. Once the stable version of Joom!Fish 2.0 is released, only security updates for Joom!Fish 1.8.x will be provided. And, the support for Joom!Fish 1.x will not last more than 12 month after 2.0 is released.

Two weeks after the public release of Joom!Fish 2.0 RC, the Joom!Fish official site reported more than 10,000 downloads and positive feedback from users. Less than 10 bugs have been reported so far. That is a good indication that the final stable release will be coming soon. Following its now established release pattern, the final version will again be released to club members before the general public.

For quite a while this Joomla! test site has been running with Joom!Fish 2.0 beta for multilingual support. On Aug. 26 Joom!Fish team announced the availability of the feature complete Joom!Fish 2.0 RC1. Today (8/29) we upgraded our system to this latest Joom!Fish version to see for ourselves what it has to offer.
